On the last couple of day’s tension dramatically increased. On Friday, The Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania promised to send anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine. Estonia will provide Javelin anti-tank weapons. Latvia and Lithuania were sending Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and other related equipment.
Yesterday, the US State Department announced it was ordering diplomats’ family members to leave Ukraine. It also said that non-essential embassy staff could leave Ukraine at government expense. US officials:” Military action by Russia could come at any time. “US president already promised he will send more troops in Poland and Romania. Biden said:” We’re going to actually increase troop presence in Poland or Romania, et cetera if, in fact, he moves because we have a sacred obligation with Article 5 to defend those countries because they’re part of NATO.”
Other European countries are sending the military towards Russia too. Denmark set up frigate and F- 16 warplanes to Lithuania. Spain is sending four fighter jets to Bulgaria and three ships to the Black Sea when they become part of NATO naval forces. France confirmed being ready to send the military to Romania.
Word to ring also added Jens Stoltenberg the Secretary-General of NATO. He said:” We will always respond to any deterioration of our security environment, including through strengthening our collective defense.”
On another side, the spokesperson of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov presented: “All this is happening not because of what we, Russia, are doing. This is happening because of what NATO; the U.S. is doing. “
