Covid restrictions updated
The Canadian government will suspend Covid- 19 mandates for domestic and outbound international travels and federally regulated workers, as announced on Tuesday by government ministers. The federal government was criticized by citizens and also by travel industry groups for excessive federal public health measures, which slowed down customer service and also forced flight delays or cancelations.

All travel restriction was defended by the Minister of Intergovernmental affairs Dominic LeBlanc, who said:” We don’t regret at all being cautious when it comes to a virus that has tragically killed tens of thousands of Canadians and millions of people around the world;” he continued:” Acting prudently saved lives.” LeBlanc also warned that the government is prepared to bring back necessary policies if there will be a resurgence of the virus in the fall.
Starting June 20, 2022, at 12:01 AM {EDT} vaccination will no longer be required to board a plane or train in Canada. This applies only to travel within Canada and flights or trains leaving Canada. Travelers entering Canada from another country must continue to follow all entry requirements such as vaccination, testing, and mask-wearing, including for cruise ships.
Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents returning from international destinations who do not qualify for the fully vaccinated traveler exemption continue to be required to provide a valid pre-entry test result, remain subject to Day 1 and Day 8 molecular testing, and quarantine for 14 days.
In addition, all travelers entering Canada are required to input their mandatory information in ArriveCAN within 72 hours before their arrival in Canada. Travelers who arrive without completing their ArriveCAN submission may be subject to Day 1, Day 8 molecular testing, quarantine for 14 days, and to fines or other enforcement actions, regardless of their vaccination status.
It is ridiculous, as one lady described on social media. “When I traveled back from the US when the plane reached Canadian airspace an announcement was made: “ All passengers are now required to put on their face masks, as we entered Canadian air space.”
Effective June 20, the federal government will be pausing its vaccine mandate for employees in the public service, and will no longer require employees in the federally regulated air, rail, and marine transportation sectors to be fully vaccinated. All civil servants who were placed on unpaid leave due to a failure to disclose their vaccination status or refused to get “vaccinated” against Covid 19 can return to work.
