The Taste of Power
The Taste of Power is a novel by Ladislav Mňačko and is about a man, who was during the second world war chief of a partisan group in Czechoslovakia and later pushed by the communist party to become head of state. The story is about arrogance, ignorance, selfishness, and hypocrisy. It’s about the power of one man over millions. It’s about people who refused to serve him and how he put them down. Everything that we can see these days from global leaders, politicians, national or local officials.
So-called “pandemic” and state or emergencies, gave the leaders unprecedented power over the people. And they like it. Every day since the “pandemic” started, we are witnesses and victims of this narrative at the same time. New orders, rules, restrictions, regulations, and finally mandates become a part of our life. Not because we want to. It’s because they want to. They want to have more money, more power, and more control over our lives.
Of course, all rules are just for plebeyos- commoners. Elite always enjoying a full life. Travelling, parties, the vacation in or of the board, whatever they want. No masks, no social distancing, no lockdowns- nothing. If they put the masks on their privileged faces and keep social distance, that was only just for the show for the plebeyos.

Sometimes looks like, they have a competition, who is going to bring more silly rules for nation, province, or territory, and after they observe and laugh behind because those restrictions don’t have any common sense or logic. It is only one virus to fight, why do we need a different approach, right? But those rules are part of precious strategic and great tactics. Every nation or culture got something similar and something different. The same is with the genetic material of residents. That is the biggest social, and if we count “vaccine”, also a medical experiment in human history. They just watch us and keep collecting the data. Don’t even mention investment and corruption stories behind.
But the Taste of power didn’t miss our small community neither. The officials brought extra rules on their own and executed them with all their passion and diligence. That includes members of the board of CSRD and members of the council of the City of Salmon Arm when they brought vaccine mandate for all employees, contractors, staff, elected officials and paid on-call firefighters. Those mandates are very unprofessional and pure political decisions because none of the members have a medical or scientific background. Especially for Mayor Alan Harrison and the council of Salmon Arm after published following statement:
City of Salmon Arm – Inclusivity statement
The City of Salmon Arm joins the community in recognizing the importance of building an inclusive community where everyone is accepted, respected, free from violence and fear, and able to thrive, regardless of race, colour, cultural background, religion, age, sex, gender identity, sexual/affectional orientation, or level of ability.
There has never been, nor will there ever be a place for racism, discrimination, or hatred in our community. We stand in unity with Indigenous Peoples and Nations, with the Black Lives Matter movement, and with other communities in calling for an end to racism and other forms of violence.
We are supportive, deeply grateful, and committed to best practices and continuous improvement of our many agencies who support and safeguard our most vulnerable community members.
The only way through what has been a difficult, challenging and community rallying time, is together. We recognize the role each of us play in building an inclusive community and thank you for helping us to do all we can to make Salmon Arm a safe and inclusive place to live. Be kind always. In friendship, appreciation and community, thank you.
Mayor & Council
Doesn’t matter about all our families members, neighbors, friends, including 47 paid on-call firefighters from CSRD, who lost their income and their families are under financial pressure. Doesn’t matter is discriminatory and possibly illegal. That’s not personal, there are still remaining in their positions and get paid for it. Elected officials’ income and benefits are collected from the taxes of residents, so they should work for them, not against.
The “Taste of Power” has been spread very quickly on the plebeyos too. Security lady in Askew uptown knows her taste too. Same as employees of Staple, Total office supply and another one…
Nowadays, after two years of “pandemic” some countries such as UK, Sweden, Czech Republic, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, and provinces AB, SK, already announced they will lift the Covid 19 restrictions. Other countries will join them soon.
Meanwhile, British Columbias’ health officer yesterday brought more mandates. Due to March. 24 al health staff, including dentists, chiropractors, and other health practitioners regulated by B.C.’ health care colleges must prove vaccination record.
