Salmon Arm- Shuswap CPBC meeting
On Thursday, October 12 the Annual general meeting {AGM] of the Conservative the Party of British Columbia {CPBC}, Salmon Arm- Shuswap Riding Association was held at the Sorrento Memorial Hall. More than 30 members of the CPBC attended this meeting to elect executives for the Salmon Arm- Shuswap riding association, which includes Nort Shuswap, Squilax, Sorrento, Blind Bay, Eagle Bay, White Lake, Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Malakwa, Enderby, Grinrod, Armstrong, Spallumcheen and Falkland.
The Regional Director for the Central Interior- British Columbia, Corally Delwo from Kamloops, chaired the AGM. She called the meeting to order shortly after 7pm then quorum was established and the agenda was approved. Next, participants heard the Regional Director’s Report. At the end of the meeting board members nominated and voted for a President and Vice- President of the Salmon Arm- Shuswap Riding Association. Daniel Bardy from Salmon Arm was elected President {resigned November 11, 2023} and David Williams from White Lake was elected as Vice-President. After voting, the Constitution & Bylaws of the CPBC of the Salmon Arm- Shuswap Riding Association was adopted.

- Good government. A belief that good government is ethical, accountable, fiscally responsible and enforces the rule of law to provide for the peace and security of our society. A further belief in smaller, less intrusive, more efficient government to afford the greatest amount of freedom with the least amount of taxation;
- Individual liberty and freedom. A belief that every individual has value, that life and liberty are a fundamental and inviolable right, and that everyone is born equal to enjoy life in a tolerant society that respects their individuality and freedom of speech, religion, and assembly;
- Social responsibility. A belief in a strong social safety net that cares for the vulnerable in our society while encouraging individual self-sufficiency;
- Free-enterprise economy. A belief that a competitive free-enterprise economy with the right to private property are essential to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit that creates prosperity; and
- To support the work of like-minded organizations, and elections of representatives at other levels of government.

John Rustad is the current leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia as of March 31, 2023. This former BC Liberal cabinet who has been sitting in British Columbia’s legislature as an Independent claimed that he will work to bring people together in an effort to build a grassroots movement of supporters in time for the fall 2024 provincial election.
