Council approved a new 33 m tall cell tower
Cypres Lans Services {CLS}, on behalf of Telus, has proposed the installation of a 33-metre tall cellular tower and associated facilities such as fencing, equipment shelter and generator on the southern portion of the parcel at 3160- 10 Ave SE. The property is registered under the Charity of the Pentecostal Assemblies Of Canada, locally know as Five Corners Pentecostal Church.
On June 14, 2023 the company submitted a consultation and information package to the City in accordance with Federal Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada, (ISED, formerly Industry Canada Public Consultation Process CPC-2-0-03 and City Communication System Location and consultation Policy 3.18.)

At the December 4 development and planning services committee meeting, council voted unanimously in favour of a referral for the proposed tower installation proceeding to the Dec. 11 council meeting.
December 11, 2023 council formerly approved this project prepared by the City administration and the motion was carried.
Another cell tower received the green light despite copious amounts of information about health risks and environmental hazards. No mention of the tower’s location; right cross the street from a mobile home park and other households which create an even higher risk for residents.
