City refused the public delegation
City of Salmon Arm officials refused a public delegation who wants to speak out on upcoming Council meeting on January 24th.
January 17th, 2022, officials of the City of Salmon Arm received a delegation request form with request to enable a presentation from concerned citizens on upcoming council meeting. Presentation supposed to focus on mandatory vaccination for City of Salmon Arm employees and elected officials. Mandate was created by Council on November 15th, 2021, in unanimously vote and went to effect on January 3rd. December 31st Council approved a mandatory vaccination for City contractors.
Erin Jackson, an administrative officer wrote: “The city has reviewed your request to present to Council and is respectfully declining it. We are committed to providing a safe and heathy workplace, in accordance with information received from both the provincial and federal governments, and this topic is not open for debate at a Council meeting. “
Delegation request was reviewed and discussed by administrative officer Erin Jacskon and the Mayor Alan Harrison.
