City of Salmon Arm increased property taxes by 4.98% despite they hold over 83 millions in an investments
The council of the City of Salmon Arm “officially” approved budget which was created by the city administration management. An almost 5.0% increase is hard, especially during the times when prices of food, utilities and interest rates on loans and mortgages are high. Don’t even mention the carbon tax, which is continuously increasing and has negative impact of every bill.

City staff increased the property tax rate despite the City of Salmon Arm {as per day December 31, 2023}, having $83,969, 856 in investments, about which they refused to provide our team further comment.

Clearly, city management don’t have a problem with increasing taxes every year as they have secure jobs with a good salaries way over the local average.

On top of that, January 31, city announced a new agreement with CUPE 1908, for the period of Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2027, includes wage increases of four per cent in 2025, 3.5 per cent in 2026 and three per cent in 2027, along with a four per cent market adjustment in March 2025.
CUPE 1908 is socialistic Canadian Union of Public Employees and is Canada’s largest union, with 750,000 members across the country. CUPE represents workers in health care, emergency services, education, early learning and childcare, municipalities, social services, libraries, utilities, transportation, airlines and more. They have 68 offices across the country, in every province.
Federal departments and agencies now employ about 368,000 public servants, roughly 40 per cent more than the 257,000 they employed when the current government took office in 2015.
Bureaucrats are getting rewarded for obeying every order {vaccine mandate} and following every rules, regulation and agendas {AGENDA 2030} whether is good or bad for the people. Increasing numbers of public employees will in turn create a new regulation and control system rules which justify the existence of more and more. As Ronald Reagan said: “As government expand, liberty contract.” Welcome to socialism, another step on the way to communism.
