The allied invasion in a French beach in Normandie on June 6th, 1944, was one of the biggest breakpoints during the Second World War. Today, in Ottawa and Canada wide can happen the same. “Convoy for Freedom 2022” started one of the biggest protests in Canadian history. Truckers for freedom supported by millions of people will arrive in the capital city. Hundreds of protests with thousands of people will be gathering in the cities and towns in the second-largest country in the world. All, for same, remove all Covid related restrictions and mandates, open the country, and the resignation of Justin Trudeau Liberals’ government, which for last couple months showed elements of the authoritative regime. Canadian day “D” has began.

The convoy finally arrived in Ottawa. Thousands of truckers and supporters surrounded Parliament Hill and the ambient area. City traffic is basically paralyzed. People are yelling and cheering various slogans against the current Covid related measurements, mandates, and restrictions, asking for freedom and free choice. The truckers are blasting their horns in the streets and organizers promised don’t leave Ottawa until restrictions will be lifted.

Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau and his family left the prime minister residence, Rideau cottage in New Edinburg for security reasons. The Prime minister’s office released information he moved to an undisclosed location.
Conservative leader Erin O’Toole met with some truckers on Friday. He said: “Canadians frustrated with two years of Covid-19 restrictions should be heard by elected officials.” What exactly members of the conservative party did for protecting Canadians for the last two years he did not mention. The MP of North- Okanagan Shuswap Mel Arnold did not even answer hundreds of emails, letters, and voice messages from concerned citizens.
Earlier this week, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh condemned the convoy, saying it harbours racists. Trudeau has been equally unreceptive, dismissing what he calls a “small fringe” that holds “unacceptable views.” {source CBC}.
The management of the Rideau Centre, a major shopping centre close to Parliament Hill has closed early after so many “mask free” customers showed up.
The convoys rolled in the Canadian streets and close by the U.S. border too. Hundreds of other protests happened trough the country. The great turnout showed Victoria, Vancouver and Kelowna.

Nice support once again showed people in Salmon Arm. Up to 150 people gathered already on traditional spots on Highway 1 close by Centenoka mall. Protesters were smiling, cheering and hugging each other. People were so excited by the euphoria created by “ Convoy for Freedom 2022” and they believe this movement has the potential to end all Covid related rules, which so many are in conflict with Canadian law. They hope for the resignation of the Prime minister as well and to start something new. As one presented said: “System is totally broken. Economy, education, law, environment issue, indigenous people question, everything needs a different approach.”
Protestors were again so creative with their slogans, logos, as usual. Better than words, please see the pictures below.
